Introduction

NestFinder is a fictional company created for this case study, designed to improve the apartment-finding experience. The platform is built with Indian users in mind and incorporates essential details like property specifications and locality information. NestFinder sets a new standard in real estate, ensuring users can easily and confidently find their ideal home.

Problems

The current apartment-finding process is inefficient and frustrating. Users experience challenges with outdated information, limited filtering options, and unreliable communication with agents.

How might we improve the apartment-finding experience to increase user satisfaction?

Goals

Enhance Information Accuracy

Ensure users have access to up-to-date and verified apartment listings, reducing the frustration of encountering outdated or unavailable properties.

Improve Search Functionality

Implement advanced filtering options to help users find apartments that match their specific criteria, making the search process more efficient.

Streamline Communication

Facilitate reliable and direct communication between users and agents to minimize delays and miscommunication.

Early Ideation

The primary goal of early ideation through low-fidelity wireframes is to quickly visualize and explore various design concepts, allowing for rapid iteration and feedback to identify the most effective solutions before moving into higher-fidelity designs.

Our User

Before started designing, I conducted a series of user interviews and created a fictional user persona with the gathered information.

The Routine Follower

A tech-savvy software engineer working at a leading IT company. He has plans to move closer to his workplace to reduce commute time.


Aarav values convenience, efficiency, and transparency in his apartment search process

Solutions

Problem 1: Enhance Information Accuracy

Implementing a system that highlights recently added properties ensures users have access to the most up-to-date listings, reducing the chance of encountering outdated information.

Additionally, a thorough verification process authenticates all property listings, enhancing trust by ensuring only legitimate and reliable properties are shown on the platform.

Problem 2: Improve Search Functionality

To enhance search functionality, I introduced advanced filters such as BHK, Property Type, Listed By, Budget, and Furnishing. These improvements streamline the process, allowing users to quickly find properties that meet their specific criteria, improving overall search efficiency.

Problem 3: Streamline Communication

To streamline communication, I implemented a Call option, allowing users to directly connect with agents or owners. This ensures immediate, real-time communication, reducing delays and minimising miscommunication.

Final Design

This is the landing page design I settled on.

Ensures up-to-date listings, minimizing outdated content.

Extra tools provide added value for informed decisions.

Stay updated with new listings by subscribing to our newsletter.

Personalized recommendations based on user preferences.

Testimonials from happy customers increase trust in the platform.

This shows the final listing page design with the filter dropdown, contact tool, and property details.

Smooth navigation with paginated listings to browse easily.

Key features are highlighted for quick access to important property details.

Direct access to more details or immediate contact with agents for faster decision-making.
